Mado’s first branch in Iraq was launched in 2015 in Baghdad and following its successful launch a further 2 branches were successfully opened in 2017 and 2018 with plans currently in place to open a further 5 branches by the year 2025.
Mado café and restaurant is a world famous multi-national Turkish franchise well known for its ice cream and traditional Turkish cuisine. Mado has a rich history and was founded in 1850 by Yasar Kanbur as a traditional Turkish ice cream shop which later became a chain in 1991 and now operates in 23 countries. The brand gets its name from two words: “Maraş”, the former name of the city where the firm is originated; and “Dondurma”, which is Turkish ice-cream.
